Tournaments & leagues

League night, run by the same system that ran the morning

Live scorecards on every phone, attested results, flights and countback tie-breaks, season standings and a clubhouse board — connected to the tee sheet the event was drawn on and the register the entry fee was paid at.

The workflow

Create, draw, play, settle

The sequence below is the whole thing. It matters that it is one sequence in one system, because every seam between two products is a place a league night goes wrong at seven on a Thursday.

  1. 1

    Create the event

Set the format, the scoring basis, flights and tie-breaks. A members-only event pulls the eligible field from your own member list with their handicaps.

  2. 2

    Draw and hold tee times

Assign flights, generate the draw, and hold the tee times for the field on the real tee sheet. A printable start sheet comes out the other end.

  3. 3

    Play

Each group keeps one live card on a phone. Scores post as they go, and the result is attested before it counts.

  4. 4

    Settle

Standings, countback, skins, match play and Nassau resolve against the golfer record — and entry fees were already collected through the register.

What golfers see

The board the room watches, and the numbers they argue about

A live leaderboard for the grill-room wall, and a stats lab that gives a club golfer the kind of strokes-gained view they only otherwise see on television. Both read the same rounds your members are already playing.

The connection

An entry fee is a sale, not a spreadsheet

This is the part an integration cannot reproduce. When a golfer enters an event, the entry is charged through the pro-shop register as a tournament entry line — so it appears in sales reporting under its own category, settles with the rest of the day, and lands on the same golfer record that carries their bookings, purchases and membership.

Entries land in the register
Charged as a tournament entry, reconciled with the day's other sales rather than tracked beside them.
Tee times come off the real sheet
The draw holds actual slots on the tee sheet, so the shop can see the event on the grid it already reads.
Results follow the golfer
A season of results attaches to the profile, which is what makes standings, history and segments possible later.

Formats and options supported today

Enumerated rather than gestured at, so a committee can check it against how they actually run their events.

  • Gross, net, Stableford, net Stableford
  • Multiple bases scored on one event
  • Flights with their own standings
  • Countback tie-breaks on the last card played
  • Skins, match play and Nassau settlement
  • Team scrambles alongside individual play
  • Members-only fields drawn from your member list
  • Printable start sheets and draws
  • Per-hole distance help switchable per event or round
  • Multi-round events with season standings

On competitive claims

Aced can honestly say tournaments and leagues are built into the platform and included. It should not say tee-sheet vendors do not offer scoring — several do, either natively or through an integration. The claim we stand behind is about connection: the entry fee, the tee time, the golfer record and the result live in one system.

Distance help is a committee decision

Per-hole distance help exists, and it can be switched off for a tournament or for a single round because some competitions do not permit it. Course hole geometry has to be mapped before distances can be shown at all — that is part of implementation, and we will tell you where your course stands rather than implying it works on day one.

League night

Thursday night, without the clipboard

Live cards on every phone, standings that move as groups sign off, and a board for the grill-room wall — attached to the golfer record rather than a spreadsheet somebody has to remember to update.

Tournament & league questions

Is scoring a separate product I have to buy?

No. Tournaments and leagues are part of the Aced platform and are included in your quote for it — there is no scoring module sold separately and no per-golfer scoring fee.

How is this different from a scoring tool integrated with a tee sheet?

Several tee-sheet vendors offer live scoring, either natively or through an integration with a specialist scoring product. The difference here is that scoring is not a second system: entries are charged through the pro-shop register, tee times for the event come off the same tee sheet, and results attach to the same golfer record the counter sees.

Which formats are supported?

Gross, net, Stableford and net Stableford can be scored on the same event, with flights and countback tie-breaks. Skins, match play and Nassau are settled against the golfer record. Team scrambles are supported alongside individual play.

How do golfers keep score?

On their own phone. One card per group, with the result attested before it counts, so a league night does not depend on someone transcribing paper cards afterwards.

Can the clubhouse show the leaderboard?

Yes — the same live data drives a broadcast board designed for a TV on the grill-room wall, so the room can watch the standings move while groups are still finishing.

What about GPS distances during an event?

Per-hole distance help can be switched off for a tournament or for an individual round, because some competitions do not permit it. The setting is on the event rather than on the golfer, so a committee decision applies to everyone in the field.

Bring your league format

The interesting twenty minutes is the one where we set up the event your club actually runs — flights, handicaps, tie-breaks and all — and see whether it holds.
